- Zero Sievert is a single player, retro pixelized 2d, top down looter shooter, that mimics games like Tarkov or Stalker
- This is the first game to try this formula, and its very interesting, it plays differently but it works
- A simplified type of Tarkov is neat, not necessarily original, but there is something special about it
- The game uses the modular hideout upgrade system and weapon attachment system from Tarkov
- The game is hard, it can be brutal even, when you die you lose everything
- Options however do let you change dropping everything on death, only when first starting a new game though
- You have a persistent stash so if you die you can take gear from your stash. The game actively prevents save scumming
- Gameplay feels like cautious exploring which is extremely punishing if you make mistakes
- Lots to manage, collecting various items, managing inventory, weight, bullets, money,
- Balancing survival elements such as hunger, thirst, sleep, radiation, health/healing items
- All this on top of upgrading your skills, managing quests, building your hideout and crafting
- Weapons and armor also degrade. Durability greatly effects usage, weapons can jam
- There are different factions you can rank up with, the factions open up stores with exclusive gear
- Previously mentioned difficulty settings allow you to greatly tune many of the variables
- For 20 Dollars its well worth it, its hard but but extremely rewarding
- Harder games might not appeal to people who want a relaxing experience
- Great game, still in early access the game doesn’t feel incomplete but needs more content and story
- Lackluster quests and story is the only major criticism for a game in this stage, perhaps enemy diversity
