- Pirate Dragons is an indie game where you’re a dragon teaming up with pirates, found on Steam
- You fly around assisting your fleet by shooting fire and cannonballs at enemy ships (you have cannons on your dragon) plus random powerups
- You level up unlocking perks and new breaths
- You buy new ships, upgrade ships, and level them up
- There is currently no story as of 1.02, no main quest or win condition so its a sandbox right now
- The combat is fun, a bit repetitive but still good fun
- Its a good twist on the pirate genre having a dragon flight sim included
- The game is solo developed, major props, there was only one visual bug experienced
- At 3$ it wasn’t a bad purchase to enjoy the pirate dragon combat
- There is six ships available with the Kraken being very expensive and quite the endeavor to buy and upgrade
- There is five factions to gain reputation with although it has no effect in the current version
- There is trading which functions decently, but wasn’t interested in testing the economy or that play style
- There are missions but they are very simple repeatable ones
- There is enemy wyverns, although the AI for friendly and enemy ships/wyverns can be decent or very poor.
- The enemy AI sometimes absolutely massacres your fleet, while your ships don’t do much damage so its up to you.
- Really neat concept and foundation, strafing in with fire, shooting cannons off your back, while dodging enemy cannonballs.
- There’s even an air spin dodge mechanic, lots of room for the game to expand from its foundation
